Sarah Bolt

The bible transcription lists Sarah as being born on 3 May 1753, and "Benjamin Bolt, son of Sarah Bolt, was born Oct 15th 1768".  Sarah was fifteen when she gave birth to Benjamin, and his paternity is currently unknown.  However, this mystery may be solved through the DNA testing of Benjamin's descendants.

Benjamin Bolt

It is likely that Benjamin was born in Fauquier County, Virginia, taking into consideration his mother's age at the time of his birth, and his grandfather, Robert Sr., can still be placed in Fauquier at this time.

Benjamin's first documented appearance as a young man, is in the Laurens County (Ninety-Six District), South Carolina 1790 census.  He may have married while residing in South Carolina, because possible son, Aaron, was born in SC in 1796.

He next appears in Hancock County, Georgia, between the years, 1797-1802.  Probable son, John, was born in Kentucky c. 1798.

Around 1825, four Bolt families are residing in Clark County, Arkansas: Benjamin, Aaron, John, and Abraham.  All are listed on the 1828 Sheriff's tax roll, and in the 1830 census, living near Antoine Township.

Benjamin's wife was unknown, but his children are believed to be:

Aaron Bolt - b. 1796 South Carolina d. 1861 Arkansas
m. Matilda

John Bolt - b. c.1798 Kentucky d. 1842 Antoine, Clark County, Arkansas
m. Mary (Polly)

Abraham Bolt - b. 1800 d. 13 Oct 1844 Clark County, Arkansas
m. Nancy Moore, c. 1820, daughter of Moses Moore.

Benjamin Bolt - b. 1803 Georgia
m. Ginsey c. 1830
