Rachel Hellams Parker Allison Bolt

Rachel's date of birth is unknown, but she must have been much younger than her third husband, Robert Bolt Sr.  Robert was born in 1710 and died in 1792.  Rachel died 15 Nov 1853, so she outlived Robert by 61 years!

Rachel is believed to be the Rachel that is named in the 1788 will of William Hellams, "Rachel (H.P.) Allison, her son, John Parker."

Robert Bolt Sr.'s deed, dated 28th August 1792, states the following,
"..I the said Robert Bolt of the State of South Carolina Laurens County freeholder for & in consideration of the Love, Goodwill & affection which I have & do bear towards my wife Rachel Boult & her son William Parker Bolt..."  (A witness to the deed was "Thomas Alison")
The wording of the deed, in which Robert Sr. refers to William Parker Bolt as "her son" throughout the document, along with further evidence through DNA testing of descendants, has led to the theory that Rachel's sons are by her Parker marriage, and adopted the Bolt surname.

Rachel's third son, Samuel Bolt, may also be from the Parker marriage.  This may be proved or disproved through DNA testing. Please contact us with any information you may have on Samuel Bolt or the Parker family.
